Frigerio Design Group
A Journey in Slow Architecture
Catalog of the exhibition at SESV Florence, 5-27 October 2006, curated by M. Brizzi.
Catalog of the exhibition set up at SESV Spazio Espositivo in Santa Verdiana in Florence, introduced by an intervention by Frigerio and concluded by a text by Marco Brizzi, the work illustrates eight of the studio’s projects: the ecological tribune of the Imola racetrack, the palace for the RAS group in Milan, the Giussano multipurpose gym, the project for the new Museum of Fine Arts in Lausanne, the new Sambonet headquarters in Orfengo, the competition for the OIC (Organization of the Islamic Conference) headquarters in Jeddah, the Sparanise power station, the “photosynthesis district” in Vercelli.
Enrico Frigerio’s research does not emerge by performing muscle tests and does not feel the need to stand out through the use of minimalisms or virtuosity of any kind. They are architectures that are appreciated for a sense of reasonableness and balance that surrounds them with discreet elegance, making them impalpable protagonists of the space in which they are located. The architectures of the Frigerio Design Group are part of the environment, in which they dissolve creating a personal, poetic millimeter of the disappearance.
