The process is our strategy

From an open dialogue with the client, to the ensemble of individual professionals.

Being ‘slow’, in practice, means to take care of every design phase by exploring and weighing its potential. The first potential is, in our opinion, provided by clients. An open dialogue with them is crucial in order to identify precisely what they want.

We carefully listen to them and summarize their wishes in a list of needs and requests. We like to build a dialogue on economic and technical factors and we specifically focus on how design can create a place where the users perceive a high level of comfort. This makes the development of an interactive relationship based on reciprocity of stimuli possible. The aim is a carefully designed habitat and fully responsive to the needs of those who gave us their trust.

Cooperation: our favourite score

More than fifty years ago, Gropius spoke about the necessity of «integrated architecture» as «total work» to be conducted with the «burning passion» of those who love and the «humble goodwill» of those called to collaborate. We have made this necessity the score of our work.

We are able to single out what is needed, the skills and competences required to satisfy and enrich the development of the project, and we know how to stimulate and then filter data and information in order to coordinate and combine every contribution.

Because today’s complexity, more than ever, requires total willingness and availability to integrate specific professional profiles, excellent soloists and an expert conductor.

In our view, cooperation means building harmony.

Knowledge: thinking beforehand, thinking for

You cannot be an “improvised architect”. Professional expertise is built up through constant practice of what we have learned from study and research in every context and at every scale level.

Such an inclination to explore is in the DNA of Frigerio Design Group and our keen interest in listening prevents us from losing the strategic management of the project.

Knowledge is the means that allows us to optimize and expand our creativity. We never content ourselves with the most obvious solutions and we always keep our eyes open for smart innovation. We take literally what planning and developing a project means: ‘thinking beforehand’, ‘thinking for’.

The new grammar of cycles

Production and construction: two closely linked faces in the economy of things.

New technologies have generated a new grammar in building. This grammar, in our opinion, regulates the design process as well. Designing volumes, spaces and light must go hand in hand with the selection of the materials and elements enabling the architecture we have imagined to be translated into a tangible organism. Only in this way can we succeed in optimizing the building site work, because knowing the production cycle of materials affects cost and time reduction. Designing application with the same diligence followed when designing the form enables us to find the best building solutions and the right answer to every issue every time.

You do not need to speak different languages when the grammar is only one.

Long live Architecture!

We think of the future of our architecture in terms of duration, and therefore of investment.

In order to ensure it a long life, we also take care of practical factors related to its use and unavoidable wear.

We plan building management with special care for energy savings, daily efficiency and a rigorous rationalization of resources. Because every building has its cost for construction, but also its perpetual cost for management and maintenance, which is in part containable through careful planning and optimal realization in terms of quality.

When we consign a building to the client, who is then responsible for taking care of it, we are well aware that we factored in whatever is needed to make it an easier job.

Investing in durability is of strategic importance.
